Fat pad syndrome
Fat pad syndrome, also known as heel atrophy syndrome, manifests itself as a reduction in the fat pad and muscle fibers that support and cushion the heel. Its main function is to absorb shocks during walking and physical activity. The thinning of this cushion increases pressure on the heel and surrounding structures.
This condition can be extremely painful and have a significant impact on the quality of life of those affected.
