Ankle sprains are a common injury caused by ligament damage. It mainly affects the ankle’s lateral collateral ligament. The most common sprains occur during inversion (when the foot turns inwards) or eversion (when the foot turns outwards).
In traumatology, ankle sprains are the most frequent injury, with an incidence of 90% in inversion and 10% in eversion.
