Exostosis
Exostosis is an abnormal bone growth that can form on any bone of the foot, often in response to excessive pressure, continuous friction or repeated trauma. This condition can be painful due to the irritation it causes to surrounding tissues, such as tendons, ligaments or nerves. Exostoses can vary in size and shape, and are often associated with deformities such as bunions (hallux valgus) or hammertoes.
Common symptoms include local pain, sensitivity to touch and sometimes sensations of rubbing or cracking during movement..
