Flat feet

Flatfoot, also known as pes planus, is a condition in which the longitudinal arch of the foot sags and touches the ground when standing.

This deformity may be congenital, i.e. present from birth, or acquired later in life as a result of various factors such as injury, neurological disease or aging.

Symptoms of flatfoot can include increased fatigue in the feet and legs, pain in the arch or heel, and difficulty finding comfortable shoes.

In some cases, flat feet can lead to excessive pronation (inward rolling) of the foot, affecting gait and contributing to other problems such as knee or back pain.
