Metatarsalgia

Metatarsalgia is a condition characterized by pain and inflammation in the heads of the metatarsals, the long bones in the front of the foot.

This condition is often caused by overuse, excessive stress, misalignment of the feet, or wearing unsuitable footwear.

Symptoms usually include a sharp or stabbing pain under the foot, particularly when walking, running or standing for long periods. Metatarsalgia can also be associated with the formation of calluses or corns under the feet.
